Most of Chandler's educational system is served by the Chandler Unified School District, but is also served by the Kyrene
Elementary School District, and the Tempe Union High School District.
The USD of Chandler currently contains three public high schools: Chandler High School, Hamilton High School, and Basha High School, and with the new construction of Perry High School.
Education alternatives include charter, Christian Schools, parochial, magnet, and "traditional" academies.
The two-year Chandler-Gilbert Community College presently contains over 13,000 students and is located in the east of the city near Gilbert's border. Private educational institutions include Western International University and Apollo Group subsidiary University of Phoenix.
The Arizona State University is located 14 miles from downtown in Tempe.
